At 6:45pm Northern Blend Chorus, an international award winning, 35 member barbershop harmony chorus, will perform for the crowd in front of the NBC Watertown broadcast center at the Dulles State Office Building. Just as the parade approaches, Northern Blend Chorus will perform their rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. Northern Blend Chorus is brought to parade fans by Wood Farms LLC, a family - owned dairy farm in Cape Vincent NY. The Jefferson County Agriculture Promotion Board will provide a milk refueling station for kids in the crowd next to the broadcast booth.
At 7pm the parade commences from Watertown High School and travels down Washington Street past the Dulles State Office building. Seven High School Marching bands will be performing. Multiple fire and police departments will keep their lights flashing and sirens blasting for the kids. Cowlick Ice Cream is coming back giving away free ice cream samples to all the kids they can until their supply runs out. They gave out over 1,000 samples last year! Jefferson County Farm Bureau will have a live cow on their float! Our Jefferson County Dairy Ambassadors will serve as our Grand Marshalls leading the Parade. There will be a milk refueling station for kids next to the NBC Broadcast Center in front of the Dulles State Office Building, provided by the Jefferson County Agricultural Promotion Board and American Dairy Association Northeast.
We have invited the Jefferson County Armed Forces Day Parade to join the Dairy parade this year as they were rained out. As an honorary Grand Marshall for the Dairy Parade/Armed Forces Day Parade, we will be joined by Bill Milton in a 1949 Buick. Bill is a World War II veteran who served in Germany from 1946 – 1948. There are several entries from the Armed Forces Day parade that will join us.
NBC Watertown will livestream and broadcast on-air during the parade. Our announcers will be Justina Jarrard (J.J.) , morning radio personality from Z-93FM and Jake Ledoux, a dairy farmer from North Harbor Dairy and Old McDonald’s Farm. The duo will announce the parade for parade fans from the NBC Broadcast Center in front of the Dulles State Office Building.
