Cheryl R. Mitchell, Ph.D., is recognized as a world authority in the processing of grains, nuts, and seeds. She has spent the last 40 years creating commercially wholesome ingredients utilizing unique food processing methods that maintain or maximize the nutrients in plant based resources. The novel plant based ingredients developed by Dr. Mitchell have been used in making the most advanced plant base consumer products. Her expertise in the metabolic functionality and composition of foods as well as the aseptic stabilization of foods has made her a leader in the food industry in the area of plant forward food and beverages.
The mission of Dr. Mitchell is to develop practical and unique natural food ingredients having high nutritional value from primary food sources as well as existing agricultural “waste streams” using cutting-edge research and process equipment. In 2015, Dr. Mitchell joined the Senior Management Team of Steuben Foods, an innovative aseptic co-packing facility located in Elma, New York, who has recently shifted its dairy focus to provide plant based nutrition utilizing the technology developed by Mitchell.
Dr. Mitchell holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Texas A&M University and is a contributor to a variety of food industry trade magazines, technical journals, symposia, and books as well as providing guest lectures to major universities. Dr. Mitchell has participated for over 15 years as a member of CIFAR (California Institute for Food & Agricultural Research) and has also served as a member of the GHSI (Global Health Share Initiative) that promotes global health and wellness, through the power of sharing thereby providing safe, affordable health solutions to alleviate health disparities around the world.

Dr Frank Mitloehner, also known as the Greenhouse Gas Guru (@GHGGuru) on Twitter, is a Professor in the Department of Animal Science at the University of California, Davis and Director of the CLEAR Center. He specializes in "measurements and mitigation of greenhouse gases, volatile organic compounds, ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, and particulate matter and the study of their effects on human- and animal health and welfare." The CLEAR Center investigates the nexus of agricultural productivity and environmental sustainability. Dr. Mitloehner has over 19,000 followers on twitter where he helps bring science to the climate change discussion.
